Description

The Data Scientist (DSE) possesses healthcare domain knowledge combined with statistical data expertise to develop our data platform . The Data Scientist works cross functionally with the ‘trusted data’ and DaaS teams to provide guidance as to how best to surface data science insights with an application.

The role of  Data Scientist (DSE) you will be responsible for  analysis, code development, data integration and performance optimization initiatives to provide data science insights to users. A Data Science Engineer (DSE) functions in both a consultative and technical capacity to deliver highly dimensional data intensive concepts. Qualified candidates must be an active contributor in a cross-functional entrepreneurial agile scrum environment to deliver in demand agile analytics.

KPA 1 Data Science Engineering:


  • Conducts analysis of website and application requirements to best surface data science concepts

  • Writes back-end code and builds efficient PHP modules to inform business and clinical decisions

  • Develops back-end portals with an optimized database

  • Troubleshoots application and code issues

  • Integrates data storage solutions in collaboration with Data Architect and Engineer team

  • Responds to integration requests from front-end developers

  • Finalizes back-end features and testing web applications

  • Updates and alters application features to enhance performance

KPA 2 Oncology Knowledgebase Development:

  • Scope the design and implementation of  next generation data platform, with a focus on genomics data integration, application and analytics using a variety of in-house and third-party software tools to research variants, support internal research programs, real world evidence studies, clinical trial control arms and surface reports

  • Analyzes issues, processes and data; acts a liaison between clinicians and Information Systems to identify needs for changes in environment to promote best practice

  • Liaisons within Enterprise Analytics team to improve presentation of clinical trial matching using  genomics and next-generation sequencing data in combination with treatment regimen therapies

    KPA 3 DevOps:

  • Collaboration with project teams to drive project plan, metrics, specifications, design, development, integration, verification, validation and launch of solutions consistent with organizational development processes.

  • Endorse database change automation in CI/CD pipeline to enable reliable, rapid and effortless releases with quality assurance into production to provide agile analytics.

  • Enjoys participation in ideation sessions with the team while also able to work independently in support of organizational initiatives to meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong quantitative/qualitative business case analysis skills with the ability to manage multiple competing initiatives in a cross-functional environment.

    Position Qualifications/Requirements

    Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, management information systems or another related field. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination for education and experience.

Previous Experience:

  • 5+ Years reputable experience in data science application initiatives with technical competencies as an engineer to present the right data in user workflow to make informed decisions

  • Proven understanding of how to examine data from multiple disparate sources to present data science concepts in scalable applications that drive data sets and visualizations

    Core Capabilities:

  • PHP Developer skills performant in writing code, developing portals and database optimization

  • Competency in PHP web frameworks including Yii, Laravel, and CodeIgniter

  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, and HTML5.

  • Understanding of object-oriented PHP programming.

  • Proficient with code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, CVS, and SVN.

  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.

  • Collegiate interactions with Enterprise Analytics Product Owners, Business Stakeholders and team

    members to problem solve, design, project manage and build products that will create the DaaS service line, clinical decision support capabilities and transform the BI Reporting

    Computer Skills:

  • PHP web framework, object-oriented programming and code development

  • Front end technologies

  • Familiarity with NLP technologies.

  • Data governance software knowledge (e.g. Informatica, etc.)

  • MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
